Activities For Children in the Cotswolds

If you’re planning to visit the Cotswolds, you may be concerned about finding activities that both allow you to experience the area while entertaining your children. However, there’s no need to worry. The Cotswolds offer several different activities for children that most kids love.

Cotswold Farm Park
One of the best things to do with children in the Cotswolds is to visit Cotswold Farm Park. Here you’ll find animals to pet and feed (including the ubiquitous Cotswold sheep), farming demonstrations (depending on the season), and tractor rides. Children will also enjoy the play areas, located both indoors and outdoors. Taking children here will give them a glimpse at the culture that formed the Cotswolds, while still entertaining them. They will learn about raising sheep, shearing them, and turning their wool into cloth, all while having a great time.

In addition, Cotswold Farm Park includes a restaurant, children’s gift shop, and a camping area, in case you want to make it your home base for a day or so. Most children enjoy experiencing the Cotswolds in this “hands on” way.

Steam Train Rides
Kids usually enjoy trains, and  Cheap Louis Vuitton Handbags steam train rides can be especially fun for everyone. A popular one, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, starts in the North Cotswolds at Toddington. Passengers can experience the Cotswolds countryside and get a taste of history at the same time when they choose to ride this steam train.

In addition, there are special days on this railway that children will enjoy. These include Paddington Bear days and fish and chips specials. Check with the railway to find out if any of these days overlap with your visit. Whether they do or not, riding this train will be an adventure your kids will remember for a long time.

Cycling
If your children are older and able to cycle, or if you have a way to tow them along while you cycle, the Cotswolds offer both trails and roads to suit all tastes. There’s not much that’s more fun than riding along a shady river trail with your family! You can bring your own cycles when you visit, or you can  Louis Vuitton Handbags UK    rent bicycles in most of the major Cotswold towns. Check out Go-By-Cycle in Somerford Keynes, or ask the local tourism office for suggestions.

Have Fun!
Whatever you choose to do in the Cotswolds with your family, remember to have fun. More than anything else, you’re building memories. Even if your children don’t enjoy every activity, they will look back fondly on the trip as a whole.
